Every drive we sell is flashed to LibreDrive, verified in MakeMKV and read-tested on real UHD discs before it ships. Internal and specialist drives are flashed to order — lead times shown on each.
Verbatim 43888 (LG BU40N)
The flagship and our most-bought drive. USB-powered and portable, flashed and LibreDrive-verified, ready for MakeMKV out of the box. Reads 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD & CD. Includes cable, adapter and a free blank disc.
LG WH16NS60 (internal)
LG's desktop burner and the fastest drive we sell — rips UHD at up to 8x. A top pick on the MakeMKV recommended list. Flashed, verified and tested; fits any 5.25" bay with a SATA connection.
ASUS BW-16D1HT (internal)
A proven, UHD-friendly 5.25" desktop drive and a community favourite. Great value for a fixed rip station or media-server build. Flashed to LibreDrive and read-tested before dispatch.
LG BU40N bare drive
The flashed slim BU40N on its own — for anyone who already has an enclosure or a laptop bay and just wants the firmware done correctly and verified. The budget route into UHD ripping.
Pioneer (flashable, limited)
A genuine flashable Pioneer (BDR-212-series), prized for build quality by enthusiasts. Production has ended, so stock is rare and priced as a collector's item — email to check current availability.
